Hi everyone and thank you for coming to Big Taurus Energy, my new astrology blog where I’ll be writing about this incredibly layered topic as it relates to current events and our day-to-day lives.
My name is Laura Finaldi and I’m a 29 year old journalist currently living on the west coast of Florida. I’ve been obsessed with astrology for as long as I can remember. I’ve always known that I was a Taurus, but the more I learn about astrology the more obsessed I become with it because I’m amazed at its ability to map out my personality and what’s going on in the world.
There’s just so much to learn. If you’re paying close enough attention to what’s going on in the solar system, you start to notice how certain things in life link up to what the sun, moon and planets are doing.
Earlier this year, for example, Jupiter, the planet of expansiveness, and Pluto, the planet of destruction and transformation, linked up in the rigid and rule-abiding sign of Capricorn. This signaled huge and expansive changes in the structures that we’ve come to rely on, since Capricorn represents things like government and societal norms.
In March, Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, moved into humanitarian Aquarius. Those old structures we’ve come to rely on are being challenged and hopefully remade in a way that is more just and for the common good, which is what Aquarius energy is all about. It has since retrograded back into Capricorn, which is a whole other thing.
On Friday, June 27, warrior planet Mars moved into the impulsive fire sign of Aries, which means we could see some real honest-to-god conflict in the months ahead.
https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsMars moving into Aries for 5 months on June 27 could increase guns, war, conflict, violence. We don’t like to give “scary” predictions but see this will be an issue for the rest of 2020. Stay safe.

Those are all big-picture examples, but the closer you track the planets in your own life, the more you start to see patterns.
For example, May 8’s full moon in Scorpio was really big for me. Scorpio is the sign of privacy and secrets — including dark ones — and the full moon is a time when all the energy and emotions of the first part of the lunar cycle becomes so powerful that you can’t really ignore it. The undeniable full moon energy combined with the energy of Scorpio pushing my shadow side — or dark side — caused me to make some major changes in my life.
We are all looking for answers, especially right now with all of the anguish going on in the world. Astrology can’t tell us everything, but it can tell us what we’re naturally good at, why certain things make us feel defensive, why we value certain things and what kind of boss/employee we are. It’s a great tool to become aware of your strengths and weaknesses so we can use that awareness to become the best versions of ourselves.
As I said, my sun sign is Taurus. Taureans are known for being stubborn, liking comfort, being generally peaceful except for when repeatedly provoked and for enjoying the finer things in life, like a gourmet meal or a piece of designer clothing. Anyone who knows me will tell you this absolutely makes sense!
But top of that, I’m also a neurotic Virgo moon, a charming Libra rising with plenty of Plutonian Scorpio energy infused into my first house, an emotionally motivated Cancer Mars and a quick-witted Aries Mercury.
Hanging out in my sweatpants and eating a pint of ice cream with a face of contoured makeup is what Big Taurus Energy means to me! What does the energy of your sign mean to you?!
